Watercolour painting lets me explore fantasy worlds and atmospheric landscapes through color, light, and a little unpredictability.
About My Painting
Watercolour painting is one of my quieter creative outlets, but it connects closely to the
way I think about design, composition, and visual problem-solving. It asks for a balance
of planning and flexibility: understanding where the piece is going, while still leaving
room for the medium to behave in unexpected ways.
A lot of my paintings are rooted in natural landscapes, but they are rarely just about the landscape
itself. I’m often drawn to the place where nature overlaps with science fiction, fantasy, space,
and science — imagined skies, strange atmospheres, distant worlds, and familiar places made
slightly unreal. For me, it’s another way of exploring light, colour, texture, and mood: the
same visual instincts that show up in my photography and design work, just through a slower
and more tactile process.
